Considering being carless

For two days this week I have not had a car because Ryan's Volvo had to be taken in for repairs. Another grand given to our pals at Louetta Automotive. You know it's bad when your car guys send you a gift certificate to a sushi restaurant for Christmas, and no I didn't make that up.
Wednesday morning I actually took Ryan to work so I could have a car and I realized by the end of the day that it was a silly mistake. All so I could go to the gym. And here's the strange thing; the days I was without a car, it was very freeing to not be able to go anywhere. I didn't have to pack the kids up, which is an amazing operation by the way, and fight traffic and baby meltdowns.
We've been home and we've been fine. It's actually been peaceful to stay here, so my plan is to continue in my isolationism for a good while. I think I have been running around like a mad woman trying to "prove" that I can handle going out with my two kids and the problem is that I'm not enjoying myself and I'm definitely not enjoying them!

So, unless you come by our house you might not see us. Another good reason to have a blog!

Today I fed David banana for breakfast and lunch and he loved it! He continues to remind me so much of Georgia (my niece) at this age. I couldn't feed the kid fast enough! When I got up to get more banana and some water for myself (I know, God forbid!) HE actually cried real tears! But I can't say how happy this makes me that I might have a child who will actually eat. Sheridan continues to survive on her sips of juice and the occasional banana.
And to reveal my absolute nerdiness I told my friend Laura that I thought she was a cyborg and Laura said, "Oh, I know...my husband is so ready for Battlestar Galactica to come back on." I didn't dare correct her (it's a CyLON in case you didn't know), not that any normal woman would know that...shouldn't MY husband be grateful ;)!

I'm not sure why more girls don't watch that show it is basically a soap opera in outer space, but Lost is still my favorite and every time I watch it I am sadly reminded of our limited time since the writer strike is still unresolved. I can't bear to think of the reality poo we'll be subjected to in the future seasons.
